A man was arrested this morning by Richmond SWAT team officers after a standoff at a home in South Richmond.

The incident began late last night when officers were called to respond to a domestic matter in the 1200 block of West 47th Street and found a man who refused to come outside or allow police inside.

After several hours of failed negotiations, the SWAT team entered the home shortly before 3 a.m. and arrested the man without further incident.

The man was arrested on a domestic warrant but was also taken for a medical evaluation, police said.
