Twenty-five high school students with disabilities, including six from the Richmond area, will participate in a youth leadership forum this month in Newport News.

The forum, sponsored by the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities, will be held from July 14 through 18 at Christopher Newport University. It will feature Richard Pimentel, known for his work in disability management, job recruitment and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The weeklong event will include a visit to the state Capitol, where First Lady Anne Holton will speak to the forum delegates.

The delegates, all rising juniors and seniors, include: Keagan Giles and Joseph Ragland of Richmond; Thomas Allen of Chesterfield County; Dominique Connor and Grace Oswell of Powhatan County; and Warren Newell Jr. of Petersburg.

For more information, contact the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities at 1-800-846-4464.
