Two Petersburg men died during a one-car crash in Dinwiddie County last night, police said.

About 10:10 p.m., a 1996 Honda Accord traveling northbound on state Route 680 nearly two miles north of Halligan Park Road ran off the road, hit a water-filled ditch and overturned, State Police Sgt. Thomas A. Cunningham said.

Eric Robinson, 29, and James R. Phillips, 39, died at the scene, police said. A third person in the vehicle, Kevin Carter, 32, was taken to Southside Regional Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the crash, Cunningham said.
