A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on charges that he shot another juvenile in South Richmond.

The defendant, whose name was not released because of his age, was charged with malicious wounding and possession of a firearm.

The charges stem from a shooting that occurred Sunday just after 6 p.m. in the 600 block of Westover Hills Boulevard. The victim was taken to CJW Medical Center (Chippenham) for treatment of a wound that police said was not life-threatening.

The shooting appeared to have stemmed from an argument, police said.
