Charles City expected to cut 10 school jobs for next year
Tuesday, May 20, 2008 - 07:55 AM
Charles City County school officials are expected to approve a budget today that will cut 10 jobs because of decreased funding from the county.
Those cuts represent nearly 6 percent of all school positions.
The jobs on the chopping block include six instructional positions, an administrative food-service job, a central-office administrative position and two staff support positions. One of the staff support jobs is part time, and the rest are full time.
The proposed job cuts would save the school system about $420,000.
The School Board meets tonight.
