DARLINGTON, S.C. -- Tony Stewart won tonight's Diamond Hill Plywood 200 Nationwide series race at the Darlington Raceway.
Clint Bowyer finished second, followed by David Reutimann, Todd Bodine and Steve Wallace.
Stewart dominated the race and made it through nine cautions and two red flags on the slick repaved surface of the venerable 1.366-mile oval.
Several other Sprint Cup stars racing in the second-tier series had problems. Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth and Mark Martin all wrecked.
Denny Hamlin, a former Chesterfield resident and the winner of last week's Nationwide race at the Richmond International Raceway, crashed in time trials and did not start tonight's race.
Busch ran among the leaders the first two thirds of the race, but spun into the wall after colliding with Brad Keselowski.
An angered Busch afterward called the accident the product of "racing idiots" and vowed to act the same way in future situations.
