A two-alarm fire caused significant damage early today at a Chesterfield County restaurant.

The fire was reported at 1:03 a.m. at the El Cafetal restaurant, located in a strip mall at 4150 Meadowdale Blvd., just southeast of the Chippenham Parkway's Hopkins Road interchange.

Forty-one people from Chesterfield Fire and EMS responded to the scene and needed 38 minutes to bring the fire under control.

There were no injuries, but the restaurant had fire, smoke and water damage.

The cause is under investigation.
