Next Friday, your paper will be a little different as we continue a weeklong series of improvements to save newsprint by streamlining sections. Among the changes:
The Weekend section will move to Friday and will change from a tabloid size to a broadsheet section, which allows us to use the space more efficiently. You'll see a renewed focus on restaurants, family-focused stories and calendar listings, plus cultural activities, movies and music.
There will no longer be a Flair section on Fridays, but most of its content will be elsewhere in the paper. The comics -- most in color -- puzzles, TV grid and Back Page features move to the new Fun & Games section that will wrap around Sports. Some of the types of stories and listings that now run in Flair will appear in the Weekend section or an expanded Saturday version of Fun & Games.
The weather map moves from the back of the Metro section to a redesigned Page A2.
The front page of our Classified section will be called Find / Cars and will highlight automotive advertising. The cover will continue to spotlight new models and trends, and the Click & Clack column will be featured inside.
