One woman was fatally shot during a large fight and another woman was found dead in her home in separate homicides yesterday, Richmond police report.

Police said Sierra Davis, 18, died at VCU Medical Center after being shot about 7:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Admiral Gravely Boulevard in the city’s East End.

Officers were called to the scene for a report of a large fight.

The shooting appears to have occurred as a result of a struggle over a firearm, police said. No arrests had been made as of this morning, police said.

Also, Richmond police are treating as a homicide the death of a woman found in her home yesterday afternoon.

Police said they found the body of Arnette King, 59, in her home at 102 W. 33rd St. in South Richmond late yesterday afternoon.

Although her death is being classified as a homicide, the exact cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner, police said.

There were no signs of forced entry at the residence, and it does not appear it was a random crime, Maj. David McCoy said.
