A man was hospitalized after a shooting in Richmond's East End this morning.

Richmond police Capt. Gary Ladin said the man was shot once in the hip shortly after 4 a.m. in the 1800 block of Fairmount Avenue.

The victim, who was taken to VCU Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, told police he was robbed by three men, Ladin said.

The only description the man provided was that one of the robbers had a rifle and the other two had pistols, Ladin said.
