SPRING FASHION: It's all about choices Linda Marshall Jan Holder Tamisha Williams |
• SLIDESHOW: Spring fashion
Name: Jan Holder, Amelia County
Age: 38
Occupation: Service rep for the Virginia Farm Bureau
Personal style: Typically conservative, but she goes across the board. "It depends on how it looks when it's on."
Store: T.J. Maxx, 9125 W. Broad St.
The possibilities: Several baby doll dresses in bright colors. "No, I can't pull that off anymore." Instead, she tried on a tank top with a sheer blue blouse, a slinky sleeveless black dress and a black blouse/black and white print skirt set.
Her choice: The blouse and skirt set ($29.99). The skirt falls just below the knee and has a lot of flare, swinging with ease as she walks. The top crisscrosses, giving the outfit a look unlike anything in Holder's wardrobe. To complete the outfit, Holder selected a pair of fun black sandals ($29.99), silver earrings ($24) and a round silver necklace ($10). Price tag: $93.98
Why she chose what she did: "The outfit is more flattering than anything else I tried on. Plus, I can wear it to work as well as out on the town."
How it would work into her wardrobe: Holder has other black shoes at home, so she can change her footwear for a different look. But what she likes the most is the fact that this outfit is something different for her closet.
What she plans to spend on spring fashions this year: Less than $200. She may spend a portion of her rebate on clothes "just to help out the economy." - Janet Caggiano
