The sun was just right on a rider at Monument Valley National Park in Arizona last month, said Mac Taylor. Movie director John Ford made so many Westerns in Monument Valley that this point was named for him. Taylor and his wife, Jan, were on a Four Corners Canyon Country trip with Elderhostel.

The Taylors have taken four Elderhostel trips in the United States, and they've been "great" and economical, said Taylor, who is retired from the concrete industry. Most of their travel has been overseas. In three weeks, they are going to Ukraine with the Georgia Tech Alumni Association, and later this year, to India. "If you don't enjoy yourself, you have only yourself to blame," said Taylor.
