If you like to reminisce or dig wearing cowboy boots, this might be your summer for music.
Nostalgia and country appear to be the trends among the big shed tours, with plenty of familiar names tucked in between.
Motley Crue, Poison and Judas Priest are back. So are Belinda Carlisle and Bryan Adams.
Billy Joel and James Taylor will make the rounds one more time (though it's rare to see Joel outdoors and not playing a stadium).
And vets Jimmy Buffett, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Lyle Lovett and Tom Petty will roll into their luxury buses or private planes to play to crowds who are ready to be wistful and old enough to have saved the dough to afford their tickets.
In the absence of most instant-sellout superstars (look for Madonna, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and quite possibly U2 to head indoors to arenas this fall), the other big draw among this season's amphitheater concerts is an abundance of country acts.
Many country stars who started small years ago are now able to (mostly) fill 20,000-capacity sheds. Even if it only sells half a venue's capacity, it's impressive to see Sugarland leap from 200-seat clubs in Georgia to national authority in the span of two multi-platinum albums.
Likewise Brad Paisley, who has nurtured a nine-year career (though he's been performing since he was a teenager) into a headlining romp that also features Jewel, who is seeing how a country hat fits her career, and 19-year-old Julianne Hough, only known until now as one of the hoofers on "Dancing With the Stars."
But there's still plenty of diversity to keep you zipping around the state - whether it's to placate your kid with another Jonas Brothers experience or get your ears pummeled by Slipknot.
Here's a look at the season's offerings.
