The marriage of Miss Tasha Nicolette Cole, daughter of Mr. Maurice Cole and Mrs. Sheila Cole-Robinson, to Walter Blake Stephens, son of Ms. Nancy Stephens, all of Richmond, took place May 10, 2008, at Maymont Park in the Italian Garden. The Rev. Timothy Kirven officiated at the garden ceremony.

The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Dorothy Cole of Stafford and the late Mr. Wade Cole, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Julia Stokes. The groom is the grandson of Ms. Thelma Grant of Danville.

Mrs. Tiffany Tucker was matron of honor and Ms. Crystal Richardson was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Denisha Deberry, Ms. Keasha Chappell and Mrs. Samarra Rogers, all friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Miss Courtney Cole, cousin of the bride. Hostess was Mrs. Janet Meeks, friend of the groom.

Lamont Stephens was his brother's best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Todd Clark, Mr. Jesse Marcinkevich and Mr. Daniel Meresie, all friends of the groom. Ring bearer was Maxwell Stephens, nephew of the groom.

The rehearsal dinner, given by the groom's mother, was held at her home. The lunch reception was held at Maymont Park Garden Hall.

The bride and groom are graduates of Virginia Commonwealth University. She received her bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene and he received his bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. The groom is also a graduate of the University of Richmond with a master's degree in Human Resource Management. The bride is a dental hygienist in Richmond and the groom is employed as a firefighter for Hanover County.

The couple will reside in Richmond.
