Four local students at Virginia Tech's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences were recently awarded scholarships from the Department of Animal and Poultry Sciences.

Jessica Walters of Powhatan, Va., was awarded the Jack S. Copenhaver Scholarship; Leah Harris of Ashland, Va., was awarded the Animal and Poultry Sciences Scholarship; Elizabeth Barrar of Chesterfield, Va., was awarded the Charles W. Thomas Memorial Scholarship; and Jessica Preskitt of Glen Allen, Va., was awarded the Owen Thomas Jr. Memorial Scholarship.
