Laura Christine Higley of Midlothian was awarded a bachelor of arts degree in communication from Flagler College.

Higley graduated magna cum laude and was one of more than 400 Flagler seniors at the commencement ceremony held April 26, 2008, at the college in St. Augustine, Fla.

Flagler is an independent four-year, comprehensive baccalaureate college. It offers 24 majors, 25 minors and two pre-professional programs, the largest majors being business, education and communication. It has an enrollment of about 2,400 students as well as a satellite campus at Tallahassee Community College in Tallahassee, Fla.
