Visitors flock to Myrtle Beach for the 60 miles of beaches and coastline, which includes two oceanfront state parks, Myrtle Beach State Park and Huntington Beach State Park. Others think golf when they hear the words Myrtle Beach, thanks to the area’s 120 courses (very few of which are private). Plus, there’s fishing from Myrtle Beach’s eight fishing piers, as well as good fishing spots in the backwater creeks between Georgetown and Little River (where the crabbing is great, too).
Beyond that, add in eight theaters, grand shopping venues, nearly 1,700 restaurants and dozens of attractions such as amusement parks, waterparks, and nearly 50 miniature golf courses and you’ve got yourself a thriving vacation spot. Be forewarned: Myrtle Beach is more commercial and is a brazen celebration of tourist life with plenty of diversions on and off the beach.
Water activities includes sailboating, canoes, kayaks, scuba diving shipwrecks, parasailing, surfing, windsurfing, boogie-boarding, swimming and sunning.
