THE HOMECOMING -- Auditions for The Stable Theatre's production will be Thursday at 7 p.m. at Christ Presbyterian Church, 2508 Dickens Road. Seeking one male age 17-21 for the lead role, one female age 40-plus and one male age 35-plus. Rehearsals will be on Thursday evenings starting Sept. 11. BITE ME! -- Auditions for the Richmond Triangle Players East Coast premiere of this camp musical comedy by Wesley Eure and Rob Bowers will be held Saturday at noon and Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Gay Community Center of Richmond, 1407 Sherwood Ave. Director John Knapp and Musical Director Tim Gillham seek one man, 25 to 50 (strong singer/actor) to play cross-dressing principal role; two women, 25 to 50 (strong singers/actresses), and one man, 20 to 30 (nonsinging role). Those auditioning should prepare eight to 16 bars of an up-tempo rock standard and will be asked to read from the script. All performers paid. For details, call (804) 241-0446.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC -- Chesterfield Children's Theatre is seeking children, teens and adults of all ages for this fall production. Auditions will be held at the theater at 3600 North St., Chester, Saturday at 10 a.m. and Monday at 6 p.m. No participation fee and everyone who auditions will be cast. Singers should prepare a short a cappella song or something with CD accompaniment. You might be asked to read from the script. THE NUTCRACKER -- The Concert Ballet of Virginia will hold "Do the NUT" sessions to recruit performers for its 33rd season of Virginia's statewide production of this ballet. Sessions will be Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.; Sunday, Sept. 21, 3 to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 27, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at The Concert Ballet headquarters studio, 11028 Leadbetter Road, Drake Building #16, Hanover Air Park in Hanover County. The Concert Ballet's production of "The Nutcracker" has about 250 roles for performers ages 8 to adult and provides a wide range of dancing and acting opportunities for a variety of skill and experience levels.
