Tickets on sale today for indie rockers' June 22 concert

Yes, you're reading it correctly that the band The National will play the venue The National on June 22 at 8 p.m.

The Brooklyn-based indie rock band has been tapped to support R.E.M. on its upcoming tour (which stops at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md., on June 11), but will also play some side shows during that run.

Tickets for The National at The National are $15 in advance and $20 the day of show. They go on sale today at 10 a.m.

On sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. are tickets for Denali on July 5 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $13 day of show.

On sale Sunday are the Kottonmouth Kings with Expendables, Insolence and Dirt Ball on June 10 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $17.50 in advance and $20 day of show.

Also in National news, singer Josh Kelly -- known for his 2003 hit "Amazing," as well as being Mr. Katherine Heigl -- has been added to Tuesday's Collective Soul show. Tickets are still available for $20 in advance and $25 day of show.

Coming to Innsbrook After Hours' SnagAJob.com Pavilion is Smash Mouth with 1964 The Tribute on May 28 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 advance general admission, $30 gold circle seating and $15 day of show general admission.

Also hitting Innsbrook is Sound Tribe Sector 9 with Umphrey's McGee on July 16 at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 general admission advance, $30 gold circle seating and $20 day of show general admission.

Tickets for both shows go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. They can be purchased at www.ticketstobuy.com, all Plan 9 locations, Richmond Music Center, Spinnaker's Restaurant and all Capital Ale House locations.

Rod Stewart kicks off a tour at the end of July and will stop at Nissan Pavilion in Manassas on Aug. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Stewart is expected to concentrate on his hits rather than the easy-listening remakes from his hugely popular "Great American Songbook" series.

Tickets, priced at $35 for lawn and $55 to $175 reserved, go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Also coming to Nissan is The Paisley Party Tour 2008, with Jewel, Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough joining headliner Brad Paisley. The show arrives July 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, on sale Saturday at 10 a.m., are $25 for lawn and $54.50 reserved.

At the Virginia Beach Amphitheater, 311, Snoop Dogg and Fiction Plane (the band fronted by Sting's son, Joe Sumner) will perform July 22.

Tickets, priced at $37 for lawn and $47.50 for reserved seats and general admission dance floor, go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Also on sale tomorrow are tickets for Rascal Flatts with Taylor Swift, coming Sept. 11. Tickets are $35.25 for lawn and $80 reserved.

For the early planners: Neil Diamond pumps up the May 6 release of "Home Before Dark" with a summer tour. The hitsmeister comes to the Verizon Center in D.C. on Aug. 5 at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale April 28 at 10 a.m. and cost $55 to $120.
