As part of its 40th-anniversary celebration, VCU has created a Web site for visitors to vote for - or nominate - their favorite local band. Check it out at www.40th.vcu.edu. . . . Lamb of God vocalist - and Richmonder - Randy Blythe, will appear in the horror movie "The Graves," as Deacon Luke, an "evil denizen of Skull City" The film stars Tony Todd ("Candyman") and will be screened for distributors this fall. . . . Today at 1 p.m., Sirius Satellite Radio's E Street Radio (channel 10) will broadcast a live concert from Bruce Springsteen and the gang from Goteborg, Sweden. Vedder . . . Eddie Vedder is heading out for a month-long solo tour that will stop at D.C.'s Warner Theatre on Aug. 16-17. Tickets, priced at $75, are on sale next Friday at 10 a.m. There is four-ticket-per-person limit. . . . The second season of the Sundance Channel's Swift"Live From Abbey Road" has been under way for a few weeks. The July 17 episode will feature interviews and performances with Sheryl Crow and Diana Krall. . . . The next odd coupling for CMT's "Crossroads" series is Def Leppard and Taylor Swift, who willshare a stage and each other's songs. The episode tapes in October and will air Nov. 8.

Today: Chaka Khan performs on "Good Morning America"; at 8 p.m., PBS airs "A Capitol Fourth," with appearances from Jerry Lee Lewis, Huey Lewis and Taylor Hicks; "American Idol" victor David Cook repeats on Jay Leno.

Tomorrow: At 9 p.m. on the Great American Country channel, Kellie Pickler shares "My USO Diary"; Bon Jovi and Foo Fighters repeat on "Saturday Night Live."

Sunday: At 8 p.m. on VH1 Classic, it's Journey's March concert from Las Vegas - the first time the band performed with its current lineup.

ALBUM NEWS

The Goo Goo Dolls' two-disc "Greatest Hits, Volume Two," will arrive Aug. 5, packed with unreleased tracks, live performances and videos. The band also has a new single for the set, "Real," which will be available on iTunes starting Monday. . . . Blues Traveler returns Aug. 26 with "North Hollywood Shootout." . . . From the Are Record Labels That Desperate? Department: Pitch-challenged "American Idol" finalist Kristy Lee Cook has signed a deal with 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville. Her first single, "15 Minutes of Shame," is due at country radio in August, with an album to follow in the fall. . . . The All-American Rejects say they have about 30 new tunes to choose from for their third album, and should have an album whittled down by fall. . . . The Plain White T's will hope lightning strikes twice with the Sept. 23 release of "Big Bad World," the band's first new album since the massive success of the single "Hey There, Delilah."
