Lisa Crawford and her family will be among the more than 8,000 participants in Saturday's Race for the Cure in Richmond. They'll take part on a friend's team in the Kids for the Cure Fun Run.

But she'll have her own team for The Breast Cancer 3-Day, a 60-mile walk over three days in Washington in October. Each member of her team must raise $2,200, with net proceeds benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust.

By the middle of last week, she said, her team was seventh out of 650 in fundraising. For information or to make a donation to Crawford's 3-Day team, log on to www.americatheboobiful.com.

Saturday's race in Richmond will take place at the Kanawha and Dominion plazas. Events range from a Sleep-In for the Cure -- participants get a T-shirt and a sn00ze Race bib, but they don't have to show up -- to a 5K competitive run. Activities begin at 7:45 a.m. with the Survivors Parade of Pink. The race begins at Ninth and Byrd streets.

For information about the Richmond race, log on to www.richmondrace.org or call (804) 358-7223.
